Trenton Buckner, a Presidential scholar and undergraduate researcher at the Parent lab, has completed the Summer 2024 Harvard/MIT Equitable Access to Research Training (HEART) MD-PhD Summer Program at Harvard Medical School. During the HEART program, Trenton investigated novel gene variants and their implication on cortical development. He presented his research study at The Leadership Alliance National Symposium 2024 and delivered his first oral presentation!

In addition, Trenton shadowed physicians and healthcare professionals at Harvard-affiliated hospitals such as Massachusetts General Hospital and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He also gained exposure to outpatient care in underserved populations through the Crimson Care Collaborative. We are exceedingly proud of Trenton for completing the HEART program and solidifying his interests in MD/PhD. Congratulations, Trenton!
